New program allows trusted travelers to access terminal areas without a boarding pass
GAINESVILLE, Fla., Oct. 5, 2026 — The Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) is one of over 300 airports nationwide to offer the newest benefit for TSA PreCheck® members, called Gateside by TSA PreCheck. This benefit allows members to request a free visitor pass to access airport terminals beyond the TSA checkpoint.

From gate drop-offs to arrival hugs, Gateside by TSA PreCheck brings back gate access for those who enjoy TSA PreCheck® benefits at Gainesville Regional Airport.
Participants can use the program to accompany family, friends, and loved ones to the gate, greet arriving passengers, enjoy airport dining and shopping, or experience the terminal without a scheduled flight or boarding pass.
TSA PreCheck members interested in participating may request a free Gateside pass at TSA.gov/Gateside one to three days before their planned airport visit. Applicants must enter their TSA PreCheck Known Traveler Number and select the airport they would like to visit. After successfully completing the online process, approved participants must present a REAL ID or other acceptable form of ID at the TSA checkpoint. All individuals accessing the secure area are subject to TSA security screening.
