The Gainesville Regional Airport is governed by the Gainesville Alachua County Regional Airport Authority.
Daily operations are conducted by a staff of approximately 40 full and part-time employees. The administrative staff is led by Chief Executive Officer Paul Mehrlich who has served in the position since April 2026.
The airport leases space to a wide variety of tenants, including the airlines, car rental agencies, the Transportation Security Administration and other vendors who provide aviation and travel services. Including these tenants and general aviation businesses, the Gainesville Regional Airport provides jobs to about 400 employees.
