Twice-daily nonstop schedule offers increased options, connectivity to 96 unique destinations this summer, as well as convenient day trip travel option for business and leisure purposes

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Apr. 15, 2024 – Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV), in conjunction with American Airlines, is pleased to announce increased frequency in the flying schedule in June and July for its important Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) route. The schedule, which experienced disruption and reduction during the COVID-19 Pandemic will offer twice-daily nonstop service starting June 5, utilizing the Embraer ERJ-175 and Canadair RJ-900 aircraft (both with a seating capacity of 76). The nonstops provide GNV passengers with solid connections to 96 unique destinations that aren’t served by existing American Airlines hubs of Charlotte (CLT) and Miami (MIA).

The increased service includes a morning flight departing GNV at 5:45 a.m. that arrives DFW at 7:30 a.m. and an afternoon flight, departing GNV at 4:26 p.m., arriving DFW at 6:10 p.m. Return flights from DFW depart at 12:19 pm, arriving GNV at 3:56 p.m., and 8:55 p.m., arriving GNV at 12:31 a.m. the following day (just after midnight).

“The Dallas route has been extremely popular with our travelers, and they very much missed the convenience and options when the frequency diminished,” says Allan Penksa, CEO, Gainesville Regional Airport. “Having two flights on a nicely sized aircraft, offering first class and other amenities, provides our business and leisure travelers with the sorts of options and flexibility they long for. We encourage our citizens to take advantage of the great opportunities our routes and schedule offer this summer by Flying Easy from GNV, and the more they Fly Local, the greater the chance this frequency might be extended.”

Some of the unique domestic destinations GNV passengers will be able to access through the DFW hub include Honolulu (HNL) and Kahului/Maui (OGG) in Hawaii; Anchorage (ANC) in Alaska; San Jose (SJC) in California, and Redmond (RDM) in Oregon. International destinations include Tokyo (HND); and Seoul (ICN).

The increased summer schedule allows business travelers to attend meetings or conferences and return home the same day. In addition, if there are weather or other disruptions out of one of American Airlines’ other hubs, travelers have more options for returning to Gainesville.
