GAINESVILLE, Fla., Mar. 8, 2023 – Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV), in conjunction with Tailwind Concessions, is pleased to announce Alachua Grill, a new restaurant option that will be fully operational tomorrow morning, Mar. 9.

“GNV has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Tailwind Concessions, and their brand-new venue, Alachua Grill, represents an exciting new dining option in our recent terminal expansion,” says Allan Penksa, CEO, Gainesville Regional Airport. “We think our passengers will be pleasantly surprised at the new, expanded menu options and convenience of the Alachua Grill, and we also are excited to soon unveil future renovations to our other secure-side restaurant. We thank Tailwind Concessions for their partnership and for helping our passengers to Fly Easy!”

The 980-square-foot Alachua Grill features an open and well-lit design for easily accessible breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Design elements include an aerial mural of Gainesville. The restaurant offers a range of convenient and quick “grab and go” offerings to more leisurely hot meal options. Menu offerings include high-quality ingredients, healthy food options that consider the medical needs, dietary restrictions, and cultural needs of travelers. In addition to the new Alachua Grill, remodeling to the existing concession and retail area near Gates 3,4 and 5 will soon be underway, offering even more hospitality options for travelers before boarding a flight or departing the airport. Concessions operating hours are 4:30 a.m. up until the last flight departs.

“Since 2005, Tailwinds has been providing delicious food and beverages to airports across the country. Gainesville Regional Airport was our small company’s third airport and has always been a great partner who allowed us to continue our growth to what it is today. Our goal is to help make GNV a pleasurable experience and we are excited to be a part of this dynamic and growing community,” said Jess Backhaus, Chief Operating Officer at Tailwinds Concessions.
