As more people return to the skies, travelers will experience new protocols, both in the terminal and on the airplane, to confront the novel coronavirus. These are some of the measures GNV and our partners, American Airlines and Delta, are taking for the benefit of our passengers and employees.
Wearing a mask at the airport and on the airplane
Signage about face coverings and Social Distancing at GNV
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines recommend wearing a proper face covering in public, and travelers should be prepared to wear one in the airport, while going through security, and on your flight, too.
When going through the TSA security checkpoint, be prepared to adjust your mask to enable the TSA officer to visually confirm your identity.
Our airlines ask that you please wear a face covering throughout your journey, including during the boarding process. If you forget your face covering, please ask your airline for assistance. For specific airline information please see:
Delta Airlines will provide masks to individuals who arrive at the airport without a face mask at the gate area.
Masks are also available for purchase at Tailwinds, which is currently operating only in the secure (departures) area of the airport.
Some passengers are exempt from the mask requirement, including young children and those who have a medical reason why they cannot wear a mask. In addition, the policy does not apply while eating or drinking.
Social distancing throughout the airport terminal
Separation of passengers and visitors to the airport by six feet is encouraged throughout the terminal. Inside GNV you will see floor stickers, seat signs and other signage, visual and aural cues reminding passengers of the need for social distancing.
Some examples of these are below:

Be prepared for new TSA procedures
Travelers are asked to comply with social distancing while waiting in the security checkpoint line. Travelers may wear face coverings throughout the screening process, however, be prepared to adjust your mask to enable the TSA officer to visually confirm your identity.
Passengers may carry on one container of liquid hand sanitizer, up to 12 ounces. If you are bringing your own food items please review the affiliated TSA guidelines before bringing food through security checkpoints.

Tailwinds: Now operating both pre-security and post-security with some limitations
Our food and beverage concession, Tailwinds Café, operates daily from 5:30 am from until the last departure. Tailwinds on the secure side is staffed during times that coincide with flight departures and the TSA checkpoint being open. Breakfast items include bagels and microwavable breakfast sandwiches. Lunch items include Ham and Swiss and Turkey and Provolone sandwiches, and protein packs. Soft drinks, candy and chips are available, as well as various sundries and gift items. Alcoholic beverages are limited to beer and wine.
Sanitation Stations
You will find convenient hand sanitizing stations in several locations around the airport, including near the TSA Checkpoint and in the departure area. Please make use of these as often as you need to.

More cleaning, more often
Thorough cleaning of high touch surfaces throughout the airport is nothing new, and in response to recent events, we are engaging in enhanced frequency of cleaning throughout the terminal. In addition, both American Airlines and Delta have taken extra steps to sanitize airplanes, gates and ticket counter areas and touchscreens. These comprehensive cleaning programs include customer areas, tray tables, seatbelt buckles, armrests, window shades and seatback screens, as well as door and overhead bin handles. Enhanced cleaning applies to galleys, jump seats, crew rest seats and cockpit surfaces. In some instances, electrostatic sprayers are used for disinfection purposes.
