WHERE: Gainesville Regional Airport, Commercial Terminal Board Room, 3880 NE 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609

The Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA) and airport management are preparing a comprehensive Airport Master Plan.  The last planning study for Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) was completed in 2014.  Since that time, a number of changes have occurred at the airport, within the aviation industry, and in the surrounding community which require a new master plan be prepared.

The primary goal of the study is to create a 20-year development program to maintain a safe, efficient, economical, and environmentally acceptable airport facility.  To achieve this, it is essential to receive input from key stakeholders, including airport tenants, area businesses, users of the airport, and the interested public.  GNV is also required to provide periodic updates of their planning documents to receive development grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

GACRAA is hosting a Public Open House on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 to provide information on the first working paper of the master plan.  This includes study background information, the existing airport conditions, and forecasts of aviation activity.  As an open house, members of the public are welcome to attend at any time between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  There will be no formal presentation. Information will be displayed on large poster boards for casual viewing and attendees will have the opportunity to provide written comments.

The meeting will be held at the Airport Board Room located in the passenger terminal building (3880 NE 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL  32609).  Parking will be validated, so please come out to learn more about GNV, the airport master plan process, and to provide input to the overall study effort.

Persons with disabilities who require assistance to participate in the meeting are requested to notify the Airport’s Administrative Manager at 352-373-0249 at least 48 hours in advance, so their needs can be accommodated.
