The Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA) is soliciting sealed bids for the “Central Energy Plant Replacement” project.  The work shall include the replacement of two air-cooled chillers, primary and secondary chilled water pumps, and modifications to the HVAC controls. The existing hot water heating system boiler shall be replaced with two high efficiency condensing boilers.  The hot water distribution pumps will be replaced with variable speed pumps to match the increased capacity of the Boilers.

Complete sets of bid documents will be available at noon on Monday, January 23, 2023.  Bid documents will be provided ONLY in PDF format. Plan holders can order hard copy prints from the printing company of their choice.  Bid documents may be obtained from:

A NON-MANDATORY Pre-Bid conference will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at the Gainesville Regional Airport, Passenger Terminal, 3880 NE 39th Ave, Gainesville, Florida, 32609.  The Pre-bid conference may also be attended virtually.  The call-in number is +1-904-900-2303.  The conference ID is  2632 390 5397.  Password 3880.

Last day to submit questions is Monday, February 13, 2023.

Attendance is recommended since the project occurs in a secured area of the airport and a security escort is required.  An escorted site visit will be conducted as part of the pre-bid meeting.  Additional site visits will be arranged after the pre-bid meeting.

Bids must be signed by an authorized official, enclosed is a sealed envelope clearly marked “Project 23-003R Central Energy Plant Replacement” and mailed or delivered to the Authority’s Administrative Office, Gainesville Regional Airport, 3880 NE 39th Ave, Suite A, Gainesville, Florida, 32609, Attn: Chief Executive Officer. Bidders must submit one original bid package, clearly marked “Original” and three copies.

Bids are due at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, and will be publicly opened at this time.  Bids received after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, will not be considered. The official clock is located in the Airport administrative office.

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms are encouraged to participate.  The contractor will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

GACRAA reserves the right to reject any or all bids received in response to this Request for Bids as determined to be in the best interest of the Airport.
