The Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA) is soliciting sealed bids for the \u201cGeneral Aviation Apron Rehabilitation\u201d <\/strong>project. The project includes the reconstruction of approximately 50,500 square yards of asphalt pavement, the mill and overlay of 28,300 square yards of asphalt pavement, the construction of approximately 2,000 square yards of concrete pavement. Other work items include erosion control measures, installation of drainage pipe and structures, pavement markings, and aircraft tie-downs.<\/p>\n

Complete sets of the bid documents including instructions to bidders, bid forms, drawings and specifications will be available via email beginning at 12:00 P.M., April 13, 2022. Bid documents will be provided in PDF format. The bid documents will not be provided in any other format, plan holders can order hard copy prints from the printing company of their choice. A NON-MANDATORY pre-bid conference<\/strong><\/u> will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. <\/strong>at the Gainesville Regional Airport, Passenger Terminal, 3880 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32609. The Pre-Bid conference may also be attended virtually. The teleconference call-in number is (877) 286-5733\u00a0\u00a0 The conference ID is: 118 559 757<\/a>. Attendance by all prospective bidders is recommended since the project occurs in a secured part of the Airport and a security escort is required.\u00a0 An escorted site visit of the project areas will be conducted as part of the pre-bid conference.\u00a0 Additional site visits will be arranged after the pre-bid meeting.<\/p>\n

Bids must be signed by an authorized official, enclosed in a sealed envelope or package clearly marked: “Project No. 22-002 General Aviation Apron Rehabilitation\u201d <\/strong>and mailed or delivered to the Authority’s Administrative Office, Gainesville Regional Airport, Attn: Chief Executive Officer, 3880 N.E. 39th Avenue, Suite A, Gainesville, Florida 32609.<\/p>\n

Bids are due at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 <\/strong>and will be publicly opened at that time. The official clock is located in the Authority’s Administrative Office. Bids received after 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2022 <\/strong>will not be considered. Bidder must submit one original bid package, clearly marked \u201cOriginal\u201d and three copies.<\/u><\/p>\n

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms are encouraged to participate. The contractor will not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.<\/p>\n

GACRAA reserves the right to reject any or all bids received in response to this Request for Bids as determined to be in the best interest of the Airport.<\/p>\n
